Plaits

Daily my mother makes me put plaits,
which almost makes me go rats!!

Putting oil will make my hair thin!
[I try to explain]
But mother said,
"No darling, putting oil is not a sin."

Soon I knew that I'll not have hair,
and before I knew it ,
my head was bare!!

  2. Dear Gayatri,

Wow!This is creativity at its best! The poems beautifully capture incidents from everyday life. The hint of humour that runs through them makes it all the more entertaining! My face breaks into a smile everytime I read them.

They sure are crisp and fresh and made my day! :-)

Keep up the good work! Let the imagination flow!

    Love

  4. Dear little Gayatri,
Excellent, to say the least! But we are not surprised at all because we knew
your literary bend of mind from early days. We are witness to your ability of
extempore writing, both poems and short stories. Your vocabulary is superb, for
your age. This can be achieved only through extensive/in-depth reading. Keep it up.
When you grow up and the load of formal studies increases – even then, don’t give
up the literary pursuits. Best wishes from Ammumma & Muthassan.
