Fourth & First

                                     When we were in 1st standard, how easy!
                                      Nothing to worry, nothing to care!
                                   
                                      Now we're in 4th with a heavy bag,
                                      too heavy to carry, too heavy to bear!

                                       When we were in 1st standard, how easy!
                                        Sums like one plus one!
                                        
                                       Now we're in 4th how tough!
                                       Sums like ten lakhs + million and a ton!


                                       1st standard was the easiest,
                                       so much time to play and rest,

                                       but even though 4th is really tough,
                                       I still think its the very best!             

Candy

One evening on my way home from school, on the road in front of my apartment I saw the cutest little stray puppy you could ever imagine. It was black on top and light brown on its underside. I looked at it for a while and then started walking towards my apartment. I heard a whining sound behind me and I saw this pup following me. It was only then I noticed a nasty wound on its back.
I tried walking back home but it kept following me and finally [with my friends help] I picked it up and took it home. At first my mother didn't want to keep it but in the end we managed to keep her.

My father and I went to the vet with her and got her wound cleaned. After that one of the vets gave her a bath. And then I noticed her tail. It was black with a white tip! It looked like a candle. First we wanted to name her Candle and then Candella . But we thought Candella would be too long so we decided on Candy!

One morning my father noticed that she had a huge white "T" on her chest! And then we began to wonder if should have named her something starting with T instead. But not long after we noticed she had a T on her nose too! On the same day we saw a Y on her forehead. My father said we should name her Alpha but Candy it was.

Candy is soooo naughty. She tries to eat every single thing. Oh HOW she bites and bites and bites. Jasmine our OLD dog gets very irritated with her. Jasmine barks and barks at her.

This is the story of how she entered our family. I have nothing more to tell you.

Eleven little elephants

Eleven little elephants

were sitting on the floor,

one had a tinge of pink,

and another a little more!

Three of them were red,

and had a yellow head,

six of them were gold,

and looked very very old!

Eleven little elephants

I do wonder when

they would get out through the door!

The Glaring Sun

One day Binko the gnome was going to Dame Apple's house to return her book. He had promised her that he would give it back that day. It was a hot day and Binko was very tired. He looked up and saw the sun glaring at him.

"Stop glaring.", Binko said politely. The sun continued glaring at him.

"STOP GLARING! I told you once!", Binko said angrily. Then he picked up a stone and said, "Ha! This will teach you how to behave!", and he flung the stone at the sun. But the stone could not hit the sun, of course, and instead it hit Binko on the head. And the sun kept glaring at him. Without knowing what he was doing he grabbed Dame Apple's book and started to rip pages off. He tried to throw them at the sun but obviously it didn't reach.

Just then Dame Apple arrived and saw what was happening, grabbed Binko by the scruff of his neck, slapped him and started scolding him. And now he is still scrubbing Dame Apple's dishes.

The Silly Land of Peekaboo

In the silly land of Peekaboo

People dance around saying la la loo!

Girls wear shoes on their heads

And boys put paint on their bread

Women play hide and seek

and men always grow a beak

Well, plants are silly too -

They always have things to do

Like shopping or mopping

for people in their house

Or maybe even wiping a mouse!

Anything can happen in Peekaboo

People even dance around saying la la loo!

We went to the taste of darkness,

We thought it was the best!

At first we were really scared,

but then we were able to bear.

I couldn't even see my hand,

but I could only feel the land.

We had a very sweet guide,

who stayed by our side.

We stayed with our group

and we had baked bean soup.

The food was partly Malaysian,

nothing close to Persian.

We had a Kiwi dessert

just the opposite of a desert.

We really liked the food

because it was very good!
